In this raw, no-fluff interview, we sat down with one of our top game testers—someone who's spent hundreds of hours dodging fireballs, throwing stone walls, and mastering every element the game throws at you. What we got was a breakdown of tactics, real PvP insight, and a glimpse into the mind of someone who lives and breathes elemental combat. From beginner tips to arena dominance, here’s what they had to say.
“That’s always the big question, right? Honestly, I don’t think there is one best spell—it all depends on the situation and how well you know what you’re doing. But if you’re new to PvP, I’d say metal laser is a solid starting point. It’s straightforward. Easy to aim, hits hard, and doesn’t need much setup. It might not have the flair of fire or the trickiness of water, but when you’re panicking and dodging, consistency wins games.”
“Definitely. One of my go-to setups is earth in one hand, and either fire or metal in the other. Earth gives you a bit of cover and breathing room—it’s great for interrupting or forcing movement. Then fire or metal, depending on the range I’m working with. Metal for close brawls, fire if I’m trying to poke or zone from distance. But honestly? The real secret sauce is map awareness. I can’t tell you how many fights I’ve won just by knowing where someone’s likely to pop out. It’s not always about raw power—it’s about who reacts first.”
“Oh yeah, this part gets tricky. If I see someone leaning into water wave, I’ll straight-up avoid direct fights with them. That slowdown effect? It’s brutal. You’re stuck moving in molasses while they line up their next hit. So I just don’t give them that shot. I stay mobile, keep cover nearby, and wait for them to overcommit. With fire users, I play a little more grounded. I’ll throw up a stone wall, block the line of sight, and try to bait them into getting close where I can punish them. You’ve got to think about element counters, but even more than that—it’s about pace. Don’t let them set it.”
“It’s massive. Timing is the difference between winning a 1v1 and getting roasted. A lot of newer players just fling spells whenever they can. Don’t do that. You’ve got to chain your spells. Like, if I’m throwing a fireball, I already know what I’m doing with my other hand while that thing’s in the air. And the cooldown rhythm—you have to know it like your heartbeat. You don’t want to be stuck with nothing ready just because you spammed too early. Smart players punish gaps. So train your hands. One launches, the other blocks. One stuns, the other kills. That rhythm? It’s everything.”
“Oh man, arenas make or break your match. Like, some of those maps are so vertical. That’s not just for show—it completely shifts how you move and cast. High ground is everything. You get a better view, cleaner shots, more time to react. If I can, I’ll always aim to control the upper levels and make people come up to me. The terrain also affects which spells I lean into. On flat maps, I go more aggressive—metal and fire. In vertical ones? I might bring in more stone or even water, just to mess with people climbing up. Adapt your loadout to the map. That’s what separates casuals from real players.”
“Absolutely. Every map’s got these sweet spots—corners, ledges, little outcrops that nobody checks. I’ve got my favorites, and no, I’m not giving those up. But here’s a tip: explore. Really get into the nooks of each map. You’ll find places where you can cast without being seen, or where people walk into your ambush every time. Also, if you play one map enough, you’ll notice patterns—places players always go to. Those are ambush zones. If you’re watching your angles and they’re not? That’s your kill.”
“PvP isn’t just about having the biggest damage number. It’s about thinking two moves ahead. Knowing when to push, when to hold, when to switch hands or switch plans. Use both hands—always. Mix your spells. Don’t play predictable. And never, ever underestimate the value of knowing your map.”
