AI Builder Hackathon 2026: The Building Period

We would like to congratulate everyone who registered early and can now qualify for the early benefit of receiving up to 400 EUR. We will be contacting the selected eligible participants by email separately.

The registration period is now over and the real challenge begins.

On September 11, 2026, the AI Builder Hackathon enters its official build period, giving participants two months to turn their ideas into working browser-based AI experiences.

The challenge is clear:

Turn plain language into interactive 3D scenes and working logic.

We are looking for systems that go beyond generating static content. Your project should understand what the user wants, create something meaningful from that input, and allow them to interact with or continue shaping the result.

What Will You Build?

The direction is up to you.

Your project might focus on:

  • prompt-to-world creation
  • AI-assisted 3D editing
  • intelligent NPCs or autonomous agents
  • procedural environments
  • AI-generated gameplay systems
  • interactive storytelling
  • collaborative creation tools
  • multimodal workflows
  • something entirely unexpected

What matters is the connection between natural language, 3D creation, and functional interaction.

A user should be able to describe an idea and see it become something they can actually explore, use, or develop further in the browser. The official rules require submitted projects to turn plain language into 3D scenes and working logic.

Choose the Tools That Fit Your Idea

There is no required 3D framework.

Participants can use any browser-based 3D rendering technology that works for their project, including Three.js, Babylon.js, React Three Fiber, WebGPU, custom pipelines, and other suitable technologies.

The backend may run separately, provided the final experience remains accessible and functional through a web browser during judging.

AI coding assistants, LLM APIs, generative pipelines, open-source models, existing libraries, and AI-generated assets are also allowed.

The tool itself is not the point.

What matters is what you build with it.

Participants remain responsible for having the necessary rights to any third-party materials they use and for providing the required credits and attribution.

What You Need to Build and Submit

We are looking for projects that explore how AI can make interactive 3D creation more intuitive, flexible, and accessible.

Your project should run in the browser and turn plain-language input into 3D scenes and working logic. The backend may be hosted separately, provided the final experience remains accessible and fully operational throughout the judging period.

The strongest projects will demonstrate more than a polished visual result. We want to see AI play a meaningful role in how the experience is created, changed, or interacted with, considering factors such as innovation, performance, effectiveness, functionality, usability, technical execution, scalability, visual quality, and overall experience.

There is plenty of room to experiment. Your submission could take the form of an AI copilot for 3D creation, a prompt-to-world system, an intelligent scene generator, a browser-based editor, an autonomous NPC ecosystem, an AI-assisted game mechanic, a procedural storytelling tool, or a real-time generative environment. These are examples, not limitations. We are equally interested in ideas we have not seen before.

The strongest projects will demonstrate more than a polished visual result. We want to see AI play a meaningful role in how the experience is created, changed, or interacted with.

Your Final Submission

To make sure the judges can properly explore and evaluate your work, please prepare:

  • A public code repository showing your project and its implementation
  • A hosted browser demo that judges can open and test directly
  • A demo video under three minutes presenting the idea and key functionality
  • A short-written description explaining what you built, the problem or opportunity you explored, and how AI is used
  • Your chosen focus category

Your repository and demo should remain accessible throughout judging. Please also make sure any third-party libraries, assets, or AI-generated materials are used in accordance with their applicable licences and credited where required.

Above all, focus on building something that works, communicates its purpose clearly, and shows us a compelling new way to create or interact with 3D experiences through AI.

€20,000 Prize Pool

The AI Builder Hackathon includes a total prize pool of €20,000:

  • 1st Place: €10,000
  • 2nd Place: €5,000
  • 3rd Place: €3,000
  • 4th Place: €1,500
  • 5th Place: €500

The hackathon is also an opportunity for Victoria VR to discover talented builders and promising ideas that could lead to future cooperation.

The official build period begins on September 11 at 16:00 CEST. Final submissions are due on November 11 at 16:30 CEST, with winners scheduled to be announced on November 25.

Two Months. One Challenge.

AI is already changing the way people create software, images, video, and digital content.

Can a person describe a world and begin exploring it seconds later?

Can AI turn an idea into a functioning scene instead of simply generating an asset?
